| Abstract |
A checklist of decapod crustaceans known for southern Sinaloa, southeastern Gulf of California, Mexico, is presented.The checklist includes all species collected or cited in the literature for this area as well as species not occurring there but for which southern Sinaloa is included in their geographical distribution.The checklist contains 350 species and 187 genera belonging to 53 families.Comparatively with the Gulf of California fauna, this accounts for 66% of all known species.Considering major groups, the following figures (number of species and % of Gulf of California species) were obtained: Penaeoidea, 19 (86%); Caridea, 61 (54%); Palinura, 4 (67%); Thalassinidea, 8 (57%); Anomura, 74 (69%); and Brachyura, 184 (68%). |
