Two species of thalassinid shrimps are recorded for the first time from Venezuelan waters, bringing to 14 the total number of thalassinids known from this coast.Upogebia omissago, previously known from Brazil, is reported from penaeid shrimp farm ponds in eastern Venezuela: Acanthaxius hirsutimana, known from the Gulf of Mexico and Surinam, is reported from Margarita Island.Additionally, new localities are given for Marcusiaxius lemoscastroi, Glypturus acanthochirus, Anacalliaz agassizi, and U.omissa. |
