Abstract |
This paper is devoted to studying of the Cretaceous–Paleogene decapod
crustaceans of the European part of Russia and southern regions of the former
USSR. In total from region under consideration about 35 valid species are
known, 23 of them are described in details (including 6 new ones). History of
investigations, taxonomy, significance for biostratigraphy, palaeoecology and
palaeobiogeography of the examined decapod crustaceans are comprehensively
reviewed. 10 stratigraphic levels, characterized by the strongly differentiated
decapod assemblages, were allocated. A range of the supposed decapod burrows
and their distribution within ichnofacies is also reviewed. On the base of
analysis of extensive references and own data some migrational paths for
Cretaceous-Paleogene decapod crustaceans were suggested. |
